1. Introduction
This Return and Refund Policy outlines the terms for returning products purchased through the Vanta Society Marketplace. By placing an order, you agree to these return terms. This policy covers physical goods only; digital goods (Initiation fee) have separate refund terms detailed below.
2. Vendor-Specific Return Policies
The Vanta Society Marketplace features products from multiple third-party vendors. Each vendor sets their own return terms and conditions. Return eligibility, timeframes, and conditions may vary by vendor and are displayed on each product listing. For Vanta's own products, the following standard return policy applies.
3. Return Window (Vanta Products)
You may request a return within 7 days of receiving your order. To be eligible for a return:
- Item must be unused, unworn, and in original condition
- Original packaging must be intact
- All original tags must be attached
- Return request must be initiated within 7 days of delivery date
Note
Late return requests (after 7 days) will not be accepted except for defective or damaged items.
4. Non-Returnable Items
The following items CANNOT be returned or exchanged:
- Supplements and nutrition products — Due to health and safety regulations, all supplement purchases are final
- Worn, washed, or altered apparel — Items showing signs of use
- Items without original tags or packaging
- Items damaged by customer misuse
- Customized or personalized items (if applicable)
- Items marked as "Final Sale" — These are clearly indicated at the time of purchase
5. How to Initiate a Return
Follow these steps to return an item:
- Step 1 — Email support@projectvanta.xyz within 7 days of delivery
- Step 2 — Include your order number, item(s) to return, and reason for return
- Step 3 — Our team will review your request and respond within 24–48 hours
- Step 4 — If approved, you will receive return shipping instructions
- Step 5 — Ship the item back within 5 days of receiving approval
Important
Please do not ship items back without receiving return authorization. Unauthorized returns may not be processed.
6. Return Shipping Costs
Return shipping costs depend on the reason for return:
Vanta Society Pays Shipping
- Defective or damaged items received
- Wrong item received (not what you ordered)
- Items significantly different from product description
Customer Pays Shipping
- Change of mind
- Incorrect size ordered
- No longer needed
Note
Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
7. Refund Processing
Processing Timeline
- Refunds are initiated within 5–7 business days of receiving the returned item
- Refunds are credited to the original payment method via Razorpay
- Bank processing may take an additional 5–7 business days to reflect in your account
- You will receive an email confirmation when the refund is processed
Refund Amount
Refund amount will include the product price and applicable taxes. Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error (wrong/defective item).
8. Store Credit Option
As an alternative to a refund, you may opt for credits:
- Credits are issued within 24 hours of return receipt
- Credits can be used for any future Marketplace purchase
- Credits do not expire
- Credits have no cash value and cannot be converted to cash
Note
Credits are processed faster than refunds and are ideal if you plan to make future purchases.
9. Exchanges
Direct exchanges are not available at this time. To exchange an item, return the original item following our return process, receive your refund or credits, and place a new order for the desired item.
10. Damaged or Defective Items
If you receive a damaged or defective item:
- Report within 48 hours of delivery
- Email support@projectvanta.xyz with your order number, photos of the damaged/defective item, and photos of the packaging (if damaged in transit)
- We will arrange a replacement or full refund at our discretion
- You will not be required to ship back defective items in most cases
11. Order Cancellation
You may cancel your order under the following conditions:
- Orders can be cancelled if they haven't been shipped yet
- Once shipped, orders cannot be cancelled (initiate a return after delivery instead)
- Cancellation requests should be sent to support@projectvanta.xyz
- Cancelled orders are refunded to the original payment method within 3–5 business days
12. Digital Goods — Initiation Fee Refunds
Initiation fee purchases are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store and are subject to their refund policies:
Apple App Store
- Refund requests must be submitted to Apple within 14 days of purchase
- Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund
- Apple has sole discretion over refund approval
Google Play Store
- Refund requests must be submitted within 48 hours of purchase for automatic processing
- Visit play.google.com/store/account for refund requests
- Google has sole discretion over refund approval
Consequences of Refund
- Initiation access is immediately revoked upon refund
- All earned credits are forfeited
- Challenge progress data may be retained but inaccessible
- You may pay the Initiation fee again to regain access

14. Consumer Rights
This policy is in addition to and does not affect your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection laws in India, including the Consumer Protection Act 2019 and Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules 2020.
